Simple, classic, DIY hair care is my thing. I am not an expert when it comes to hair, and I don't claim to be one. In this post, I'm just sharing what has worked for me and made MY hair so much healthier. I hope you learn something from my suggestions!
Q. "What do I do if my hair is dry and dull?"
A. 1: Trim the dead ends.
A. 2: Coconut oil hair mask
Ingredients:
-3 T cocunut oil
- 1 T honey*
Directions:
1. Melt the coconut oil in a small saucepan. (or the microwave:) (helps moisturize)
2. Stir in the honey. (helps with split ends)
3. Apply to your hair, paying special attention to the roots and ends. Leave on for 15-30 minutes.
4. Wash hair thoroughly.
*If you have very curly hair, you may want to leave out the honey. Use your own judgement.
A. 3: Wash less often. Although it depends on your hair type, every two days is a good place to start, and then you can go from there:)
Q. "What do I do if my hair is oily and greasy?"
A. 1: Wash your hair with cold water. The colder the better. This one is a LIFESAVER.
A. 2: Dry shampoo between washes.
Ingredients:
-1/4 cup cornstarch (absorbs grease)
-cocoa powder (to help shampoo blend in darker hair)
-3-5 drops essential oil (optional, but it will make it smell the shampoo smell good)
Directions:
1. Mix all the ingredients together. Put in an airtight container.
2. Apply to the oily parts of your hair using a makeup brush; especially the roots.
Q. "How do I help my hair grow faster?"
A. 1. Add lavender essential oil to your conditioner.
A. 2. Use the coconut oil hair mask recipe in Q. #1.
Q. "My hair is heat damaged! Help?"
A. 1. Again, the coconut oil hair mask would be super helpful.
A. 2. Get a good heat protectant spray. I use Garnier Fructis. Amazon.com : Garnier Fructis Style Flat Iron Perfector Straightening Mist, Sleek , 6 Fl Oz : Hair Sprays : Beauty & Personal Care
